Halotestin is an oral anabolic-androgenic steroid. A 9-fluoro, 11-hydroxy derivative of methyltestosterone with very high androgen-receptor binding affinity and correspondingly high hepatic burden.

Where it sits

Oral compounds are tablets, and the structural feature that makes a compound orally active is usually 17-alpha-alkylation, which resists first-pass hepatic metabolism. That same feature is why oral compounds are discussed differently from injectables.
